Education Committee Graduate School (ReMa)

The Education Committee (EC) is the advisory committee to ensure the quality of education of the Graduate School. The EC advises the Board of Studies (BoS) on issues concerning the quality, structure, and policies of the master programmes. An important task is to gather information and feedback from the Programme Advisory Committees (PACs), and ensure that the most important points, especially those that apply to more than one master programme, are forwarded to the BoS.

In order to guarantee a good relationship, the agenda and (relevant parts of the) minutes of PAC, EC and BoS meetings are always exchanged. This way, EC members know what is discussed in the BoS and vice versa. The two EC representatives and the BoS student member should regularly discuss all PAC minutes and formulate complaints, suggestions etc., which are then discussed in the EC and BoS.

Some of the issues we will be tackling this year will be:

–      Internationalisation (e.g. transition to English language taught masters by 2018, promoting UU to a wider international audience)

–      Clinical track (e.g. international students have difficulties due to language barrier)

–      Pre-masters students (e.g. difficulties in qualifications and admittance into REMA programmes)
